Want a way to put that old wax to use? Here's an awesome idea to recycle it AND have cheap fire starters for your summer bonfires! I'm using Scentsy wax after it has lost all of it's scents, so it's already melted when i pour it into the egg carton. However, if you're using regular candle wax i have a few easy ideas on melting that too.
-set your GLASS candle container on one of those plug-in mug warmers found at Walmart or Dollar Stores.
-use a 'double boiler method' by setting the jar in boiling water in a pan.
-i'm guessing it is fine to microwave it (i do with my Scentsy wax) however please don't forget to take the metal clip out that holds the wick in place!! Just melt slightly with one of the methods above, and then cut the wax in half (while in jar) after it has softened. Then you can pull out the metal and melt right in the microwave.
Take cardboard egg cartons and dryer lint to fill each space, pour melted wax over the lint (filling up each hole) and let cool. Break apart and VOILA, fire starters!!! Fun to make and way cheaper then the ones you buy. =D
